StarCraft: Remastered coming this summer

One of the all-time favorite RTS games StarCraft, is getting a remastered version this summer. Both the StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War will be remastered as StarCraft: Remastered with both original games in 4K UHD.

Along with the graphical upgrade, there will be a number of other additions as well such as new sounds, illustrations for missions, revamped matchmaking capabilities and the ability to connect to the new Blizzard App. Players would be able to save games to the cloud as well. According to Blizzard, even though they are introducing a number of changes, they are trying their best not to mess with the gameplay and balance of the game.

CEO and co-founder of Blizzard, Mike Morhaime, said.

we’re modernizing the original game’s visuals, audio, and online support to ensure that players can enjoy StarCraft for another 20 years and beyond.

StarCraft: Remastered will be available for both Windows and Mac. Blizzard hasn’t released the release date or the pricing details for the remastered version but it is expected the new version will be launched in summer this year.
