Sony 2017 4K HDR TVs To Have Integrated Google Assistant

Sony launched a new line of 4K HDR TVs at the CES this year that got a lot of attention. Apart from the stunning new A1E OLED 4K HDR TV, Sony also said that it plans to launch other mid-range 4K HDR TVs this year that will have integrated Google Assistant.

Apart from the improved color and brightness levels that will enhance the picture quality of these TVS, Sony said that there will be a whole lot of new features that will be included in the 2017 line of models. The new technologies will include Thin Backlight Master Drive, the X1 Extreme Processing engine and the best one, Google Assistant.

All TVs will support all three new HDR formats and will have new and improved processing engine for content upscaling and rendering HDR graphics and motion handling. This is a new technology that was recently introduced in late 2016 models. Besides this, Sony is also planning to introduce the latest version of its TRILUMINOS Display color enhancement technology in all of its 2017 TV models. Along with it, the company said that the 2017 models will also include Super But Mapping and HDR Remaster features that will help in providing enhanced color gradation and HDR upscaling.

For a normal user, the real game changer is the introduction of Google Assistant. Just imagine saying this to your TV, “Ok Google, Change the Channel”. This feature won’t be unlocked when you purchase a new model. Sony said that the feature will be unlocked later after an update.
