Earlier, we reported that users of BBC iPlayer were able to watch BBC Planet Earth II in 4K but it looks like it was just a test run to see the response of the consumers for the 4K HDR release of BBC Planet Earth II. Now, the series is getting its 4K UHD release for consumers.
According to BBC, the 4K UHD copy of BBC Planet Earth II is already available for pre-order on Amazon that will start shipping on March 13, 2017. The 4K UHD version of the series will also be equipped with HDR for an improved level of details, realistic contrast and deep saturated colors. Apart from that, the 4K UHD version of BBC Planet Earth II will have 5.1 Dolby DTS-HD Master Audio formatting for best sound quality.

The 4K HDR Blu-Ray copy of Planet Earth II is available for pre-order from the Amazon UK site for £40. Since 4K Blu-rays are locked to specific regions, this copy can be used on any UHD Blu-ray player in the world.
